What we do

We help children and families affected by domestic abuse to move on and create happier memories. Our services are trauma-informed and the support we provide is designed around the needs of the individual and their family.

In Sheffield, it’s estimated that over 28,000 children are living in households where domestic abuse is present. This can have a huge impact on children and young people both in the short and long-term.

Our support is free of charge for families in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. We receive valuable support from and work in partnership with a range of funders, organisations and individuals.

Our Main Funders

Our main grants, contracts and charitable trusts have been essential in enabling us to build strong financial foundations on which to grow.

But there’s always more we can do! With your help we can go the extra mile and not only provide much needed support, but also the opportunity to create positive memories and experiences. This can be to buy essentials or fun things to support wellbeing such as family days out and activities.

Do your own fundraising for Haven:

Our fundraisers are amazing!

Whether they’re doing a sponsored silence, running, climbing a mountain, baking cakes for a coffee morning, or hosting a comedy night, they’re helping children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

However you decide to fundraise, we’re very thankful for your support.

Feedback from a Haven family day at Mayfield Alpacas Animal Park, during the school holidays.

‘Today has been amazing. We all had a great time exploring the park and meeting all the animals. It was also nice to meet the Haven workers and get to know the Haven staff personally. I found the playroom a great idea for the children, staff and parents to get together and spend time together’
