Haven is committed to protecting your privacy, including your personal data. We will be the data controller of any personal data which we collect from or about you. This Policy, sets out the terms on which we will hold and process your personal data.

What information do we collect

We collect information that can identify you.  If you use our services, become a volunteer or help us with our fundraising we will collect the information that you have provided. These include: 

• Basic details such as your name, telephone number, email address, postal address. We also collect information from you when you voluntarily opt in to our marketing emails or provide feedback or complete a contact form on our website.

• Information may also be collected about you when you visit our website (for example via cookies), such as your IP address and other browser-generated information, such as how the resources you visited on the website.

• If you donate to our charity we will collect bank account details and gift aid details. 

• Photographs and video recording – but only when we are given consent. 

• We might also collect information that helps us to improve our services, such as feedback forms and surveys. 

• If you use our services we may also collect additional data relating to: health, race, ethnic origin and religion. This will only be used to help us ensure our services are accessed by a wide of people and support their needs appropriately. 

How we get the personal information and how we will use your data

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• As a donor for fundraising

• Completion of a referral form in order to access one of or services

• To provide feedback after receiving a service

• Applying for a job at Haven and completing an application form

• Applying to become a volunteer, trustee or a student placement at Haven

• Becoming a supplier of services to Haven

We will use your data to help us:

• Improve our services

• To help us to determine if we are able to provide a service for you dependent on your needs

• To help us to adhere with the recruitment process, including and not exclusive to shortlisting, job offers or otherwise and so forth

• Improve our website and accessing resources 

• To help with our fundraising and donations

• to deal with any queries, complaints or problems reported by you;
